With his first film, The Marc Pease Experience, director Todd Louiso had more of aMargaret-ish experience as he navigated the studio system; between the writer's strike, distributor Paramount Vantage going under, and co-star Ben Stiller's handlers, the movie was set adrift into a few theaters before an unceremonious DVD release. Louiso's follow-up had a more promising start as the opening night film of Sundance 2012 and eventual pick-up from Oscilloscope Pictures, and an increasing spotlight on star Melanie Lynskey.
It can't hurt that Christopher Abbott, aka Charlie from Girls, is the younger guy in question here -- especially since the premise sounds a bit like the divorcee version of Lena Dunham's Tiny Furniture.
